5 Stars of Amazingly raw and emotional reading!
I am not quite sure where I want to go with this review, I want to emphasize that I loved and hated this all at the same time. This is broken, raw and so very real.
I was relating and cringing and maybe seeing a little to much of myself and the reflection wasn’t pretty. As a woman
who has been married for 13 years I could relate to Tori in part one but as the story progressed the similarities ended and I really just didn’t like her very much. Even though I didn’t like what she was doing I still could see why. Addiction comes in many forms and walking away is sometimes something we just are not able to do. Married life falls into a routine where we take for granite the little things. The heat is gone and it becomes boring. I am pretty sure every woman will be able to relate to Tori at some point in this tale.

A very poignant look at the reality of the romance genre. Yes, living in fantasy is wonderful and we all wish we had men like we read and sometimes we build false expectations that can not possibly be filled. Tori’s actions are so very deplorable but I am pretty sure you will find a little of her inside yourself, I know it made me hold my husband a little bit closer and it made me think of how I would act if placed in Tori’s shoes. Attention is something we all crave, the grass is greener on the other side right? That is what we all think. Deception runs deep, so deep that we lose who we are and become someone else. The thrill of something new, the suspense of getting caught, the sheer addiction of it all.
A truly vicious circle to break.

“Love is a temporary madness, it erupts like volcanos and then it subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion, it is not lying awake at night imagining that he is kissing every cranny of your body. No, don’t blush, I am telling you some truths. That is just being “in love” which any fool can do. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident.”

A TRUE STORY told through the voice of New York Times Bestselling author E.K. Blair.
She’s an author.
She’s a mother.
She’s a wife.
She’s a fraud.
A woman marked and bound by her own deceit, this is the astounding tale of how one choice knocked her world from its axis forcing her to battle through a year of scandal and betrayal, blurring the lines between reality and fantasy.
This is an intoxicatingly risqué stand-alone true story tangled in lust, heartbreak, and contrition.
